Peter Marston “Coach Pete” is the Founder and Owner of Marston Athletics. He has more than 20 years coaching, training and scouting athletes. He has coached and trains the likes of big names in the game such as Kyrie Irving, (#1 NBA Draft Pick 2011), Michael Gilchrist (#2 NBA Draft Pick 2012), RJ Barrett (NBA, Toronto Raptors), Scottie Barnes (NBA, Toronto Raptors), Dariq Whitehead (NBA, Brooklyn Nets), Mark Armstrong (NBA, Brooklyn Nets), Madison St. Rose (Notre Dame University), Destiny Adams (Rutgers), Skye Owen (University of Florida), Aaron Bradshaw (Tennessee State University), Mackenzie Mgbako (Indiana), Corey Fisher (former Villanova player), Ben Simmons (Brooklyn Nets) and many
more.
As a native Jamaican, his first love in sports was football (soccer), but he quickly found a passion and love for hoops when coming to America in the late 80s. He began coaching in 1997 at his alma mater, Old Bridge High School, where he helped introduce athletes to AAU basketball during the offseason. One of the biggest influences on his coaching career was legendary coach Kevin Boyle, who helped shape his approach to player development and the game.
In 2010, Coach Pete founded Marston Athletics with one mission: to give every child, regardless of their background, the opportunity to learn, grow, and fall in love with basketball.
In 2022, he left his career of more than two decades to pursue Marston Athletics full-time. Since then, the program has grown to offer more than two dozen training sessions each week, graduated over 1,000 athletes, expanded its coaching staff, and launched Marston Elite, an AAU program that helped Union Catholic capture its first state championship since 1987. Coach Pete is also a proud husband and father of four.

Led NJ Got Game AAU Basketball from 2009–2014, mentoring and developing young athletes.
🏀 Former Head Coach – Team Jordan AAU
Served as Head Coach from 2005–2008, helping develop elite youth basketball talent.

Currently ranked #84 All-Time among Middlesex County players with 100+ career three-pointers.
🏀 1,000+ Athletes Developed
Has coached and mentored more than 1,000 athletes, helping many achieve their dreams.

Our goal is to help young athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. We strive to develop basketball skills, build confidence, teach strong character, and inspire players to work hard, overcome challenges, and pursue their dreams. By partnering with families, we aim to create a positive environment where every athlete can grow as a player, teammate, and person.
